Gembrook Truffles is a family-run farm located in the stunning Dandenong Ranges, close to Melbourne's famous Yarra Valley and just a 60-minute drive from the heart of Melbourne's CBD.
Come and join these passionate industry professionals for an exciting first-hand experience finding and harvesting black truffles, and meet ‘Willow’, the Australian Shepherd with an infectious and loveable nature and an exceptional nose for finding truffle.
Exact location and directions will be provided prior to the hunt.
Your experience begins with a short and informative presentation about truffles, before heading out into the truffiere for the hunt, where Willow will walk the rows of trees in search of truffles. Once she has discovered a truffle, you will be invited to have a turn locating the truffles beneath the soil and unearthing the black gold.
After the hunt is complete, retire to the cozy ‘Truffle Den’ for a delicious morning or afternoon tea including a taste of the truffle harvested earlier in the day, as well as refreshments.
Fresh truffle or an inoculated truffle tree will be available to purchase and take home, and will include a complimentary recipe booklet and information about how to maximise your at-home truffle experience.
