2020 Truffle Hunt Program

Tickets On Sale Now!

Every year Truffle Melbourne partners with our favourite Victorian truffieres to host hunts throughout the winter truffle season. Whether rain, hail or shine, rug up and pull on your gumboots to enjoy a genuine bucket list experience - join the truffle hunter and the truffle dogs in the hunt for the most beguiling aroma on (and in!) the earth.

Dates for the 2020 season at our farm, Truffle Paddock are already close to selling out, while dates for Red Hill Truffles, Black Cat Truffles, Truffle Treasures and the Truffle House are now on sale, with more to follow.

Truffle hunt bookings via trufflemelbourne.com have NO BOOKING FEE. Please note that hunt tickets are refundable if you can't attend for a genuine medical reason. Tickets are also transferable - so consider your date and venue carefully before booking.

Statement regarding COVID-19

Updated 6am, 25 March 2020

Our 2020 hunt program doesn’t begin until June – more than two months away, so we’re hopeful that by then the news will be more positive. Hunts are gatherings of small groups but are not "essential events" and so may need to be cancelled. If cancelled you'll receive a refund.

To optimise the health and safety of our guests, the following conditions now apply to any 2020 truffle hunt booking through trufflemelbourne.com:

* Any guest for a truffle hunt MUST declare that they do not have any symptoms of the virus before attending. They must self-exclude if showing any symptoms.

* Tickets purchased through Truffle Melbourne will be refundable if guests are unable to attend due to “genuine medical reasons”.

* The host farm, their staff and any contractors will not run any public hunting events if anyone on their team is showing symptoms of the disease. Where a farm cancels a hunt, guests will be refunded in full.

We look forward to welcoming you at a truffle hunt this winter!

Truffle Hunts On Sale Now:

The Truffle Paddock is Truffle Melbourne founder Nigel Wood's truffiere in Grantville. Surrounded by indigenous trees, native birds and wildlife, hunt for black and white truffles with Melbourne's favourite truffle hunting dogs 'Spice' and 'Arrow' as your guide.

Visit Red Hill Truffles on the Mornington Peninsula and be charmed by Jenny and her super sniffer truffle dog Thomas as they lead you through the oak and hazelnut trees. You'll have plenty of opportunities to taste, smell, photograph, purchase and even devour freshly harvested truffle, right through the winter season.

Black Cat Truffles offer a slice of truffle heaven, with views overlooking the Creswick State Forest on the horizon. Put on your gumboots, rug up in your winter woollies and head off on an adventure hunting for Black Winter Truffles with the truffle dogs as your guides.

Truffle Treasures was established in 2007 in the Goldfields Region of central Victoria using Holly Oak trees inoculated with Tuber melanosporum (the Perigord black truffle). Their aim is to bring people and truffles together, so that the enjoyment of this culinary delicacy can be widely shared.

Gippsland's The Truffle House has been supplying premium Australian grown black truffle since 2005. Offering stunning views along the coast, stroll through the French oaks of this vibrant truffiere and observe how the truffle-hunting dogs locate the buried treasure. Unearth and experience the intense aromatics of freshly harvested black truffles.
